10 . Jackson sits at his school desk and looks at the new kid in his class. His name is Billy. He comes to England from America. Jackson wants to be friends with him.

Jackson comes to Billy and says, “Hi, Billy! Do you want some chocolates?”

“No. thanks. I have some in my schoolbag.” Billy says.

“I see. Would you like a box of orange juice?” Jackson asks.

“No. I don’t like orange juice.” Billy says.

“Fine,” Jackson says. He thinks, “Does Billy not like me? Does he not want to make friends (交朋友) with me?”

Some students are flying kites there. Jackson wants to join (加入) them. But then he sees Billy sitting there. Jackson thinks, “Billy is lonely (孤独的) and needs new friends. I should try again.”

“Do you like toy cars? I have some here.” Jackson says to Billy. He takes out a black one, a blue one, and two white ones from his pocket (口袋).

“Yes! I love toy cars.” Billy says. Then the two boys play with Jackson’s toy cars.

Later, Billy says to Jackson. “You are my first (第一) friend here. Thank you.”
