Teaching process:
Step 1: Use greetings and polite expressions in life. Example:
T: Good morning/afternoon, Goodbye, Please, Thank you, You are welcome, Excuse me, Sorry
S: Good morning/afternoon, Goodbye, Please, Thank you, You are welcome, Excuse me, Sorry
Step 2: Show new words. T: Show the new word cards like a student, a teacher, a policeman, a vet, a doctor. S: Read the words after the teacher.
Step 3: Model the dialogue. T: Hold up the flashcard for dancer. Say “She is a dancer” and “She can dance”. S: Repeat the sentences after the teacher. Repeat for other words. T: Review the words can and can't. S: Understand the difference.
Step 4: Look at the pictures and answer questions. Picture 1: Where are Ann, Ken, and Mocky? Picture 2: What are Ann, Ken, and Mocky looking at? Picture 3/4: What is happening now? Picture 5: What is Ann pointing to? Picture 6/7: Who comes to help? Picture 8: Who is the man in the green shirt? Picture 9/10: What is happening now? S: Look at the book and answer the questions in Chinese.
Step 5: Listen to the radio. T: “What did they say?” S: Listen and read with the radio.
Blackboard writing: She/he is a dancer. She/he can dance.
Step 6: Homework: Ask the children to tell the story to their families.
Reflection: Students are interested in the story and can retell it based on the pictures.
Lesson 2
Teaching aims:
1. Review the sentences.
2. Learn some new words.
3. Use classroom commands.
Teaching emphasis:
1. Understand the teacher's speaking in class.
2. Ask and answer with “What does he/she do?” and “She's a ...”.
3. Can answer “Yes, she can / No, she can't”.
Teaching difficulty:
1. Ask and answer with “What does he/she do?” and “She's a ...”.
2. Read and understand new words.
