教学目标：
1、词汇方面：Read and say: drive, bridge, south, China, vest, through, elevator, bed, store, fast, visit, apartment, eighteenth, tallest, Asia.
2、语言结构方面：复习一般现在时，形容词比较级。
3、交际用语：Here are 及7—11的交际用语。
4、思想方面：对学生进行‘爱我家乡’的思想教育。
教学重难点：
1、认读单词。
2、会读，理解大意，能回答与有关的问题。
难点：Retell the text (1-4)。
教学准备：Tape recorder，Pictures
第一课时：
基本教学过程：
Step 1: Warm-up and revision
1. Try to retell the text of Lesson 11. First together, then the volunteers.
2. Try to read and say the words of this lesson (卡片形式快速出现)。
3. 区分辨音：i [ai] drive, China [i] bridge, it。
4. Revise the old words: fail, ride, over, street, stop, in front of, building, floor, a up high, much bigger than, bright (卡片形式快速出现，读单词并说词义)。
Step 2: New concepts
1. Teacher points to the picture and says: 'I have a friend. His name is Liu Yun. He lives in Shanghai. He has a new house. It’s in Pudong. It’s very beautiful. Let’s go and visit it.'
2. Play the tape (1-4段) as the students listen and look at the books.
3. Play the tape again as the students repeat and say Chinese meaning.
4. Teacher points to the pictures. Retell the text (1-4) and write the words under the pictures.
Step 3: Drills
1. Ask the pupils to look at the books and repeat after the tape recorder.
2. Read the text together.
3. Ask the pupils to close the books. Listen to the tape and repeat.
4. Look at the words. Teacher and pupils try to retell (可以分段复述)，差生可以让他们读一读。
6. Answer some questions:
1) Where does Liu Yun live?
2) Are his family driving to their new house?
3) Did they ride over a bridge and through some streets?
4) Where do they stop?
5) Did they ride the elevator up to their new house?
6) What floor is their new house on?
7) Is his new house bigger than the old one?
8) Does it have a garden?
Step 4: Review and Ex.8 after class.
Try to retell the text of this lesson.
