1. Enable students to understand and use the following words: school, classroom, library, playground, canteen, teacher, student, desk, chair, blackboard, ruler, book, pen, pencil, bag, ball, and toy.
2. Enable students to understand and use simple sentences to express where things are located in the school environment.
3. Enable students to describe their school and the facilities it has.
4. Enable students to ask and answer questions about school facilities and their locations.
Teaching steps:
Step 1: Warm-up (10 minutes) - Greet the students and review the words learned in the previous class, such as 'hello', 'school', 'classroom', 'teacher', 'student', and 'ruler'. Show pictures of school environments and ask students to identify the facilities in the pictures, for example, classroom, library, playground, and canteen.
Step 2: Presentation (15 minutes) - Introduce new words related to school facilities, such as 'desk', 'chair', 'blackboard', 'book', 'pen', 'bag', 'ball', and 'toy'. Use flashcards and real objects to demonstrate the new words and have students repeat after the teacher to practice pronunciation.
Step 3: Practice (20 minutes) - Divide the class into small groups and ask each group to describe one of the school facilities they have learned. For example, one group describes the classroom and another group describes the library. After the group activity, ask individual students to answer questions about where things are located in the school environment. For example, 'Where is the ball?' 'It's in the playground.'
Step 4: Extension (10 minutes) - Sing the song 'My School' together and encourage students to sing along. This will help reinforce the new words and sentences they have learned. Encourage students to draw a picture of their school and label the different facilities in the picture using the new words they have learned.
Step 5: Homework (5 minutes) - Assign homework for students to review the new words and practice describing the school facilities with their family members at home.
